A geriatric care course essential for elderly care
Many social anomalies of today’s times are seen almost everywhere in every society and the main one is the care of elders. This is a tragedy and it is time to think and do something concrete to solve it. As a result, the Geriatric Care Course has been started in association with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. This organization of Tata is working on a global basis. A total of 420 hours of study is to be done in this course of about six months. In which there is 300 hours of hospital practical training. While 120 hours are theoretical classes. Sisters who have passed 10th standards are given admission in this training course. Four subjects are taught in this cell. It includes the subjects of Psychology, Sociology, Physiotherapy and Nursing. On completion of this course an examination is conducted which is affiliated to TISS and every candidate who clears the examination is awarded a certificate from this institute. Which will be considered valid for employment in all types of hospitals.
We certainly hope that this course will prove to be very useful in social service work.
At the end of the Geriatric Care Course, a certificate is organized by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.
