Ansuya J. Mody Women Empowerment Project was established in Jun. 2014 during the celebration of 3 decade completion of Jain Social Group , Bharuch. The mission of the project is to serve and empower the needy women of surrounding area by imparting the vocational skill and subsequently allotting the work to earn the livelihood.

The purpose of the project are as under :

1. Impart the vocational skill to the needy women
2. Bring them in the main stream of the society by life education
3. Development of the working team members

The activities are managed by the group of 15 women of Jain Social Group, Bharuch headed by Mrs. Ketkiben Mehta and Toralben Shah. All the social activities of Jain Social Group , Bharuch is managed under the Jain Social Group Welfare Trust , Bharuch. The total funding of the project is supported by Ansuya Mody Foundation , Mumbai which is a part of J B Mody Group of companies.

The project was started with Training of Tailoring activities and further developed for the training in Advance Fashion Design , Catering , Beautician , Tutorial classes of 10th standard Students, Computer & Tally , four-wheeler Driving , Handicraft and Geriatric care courses. The Geriatric Care course is supported by TATA Institute of Social Science , Mumbai. All other courses are run by our team and examination are taken by approved Govt. Examiner. The batch  duration remains @ 3-4 months which includes theory and practical training.

Students are given value education and life teachings alongwith technical skill which help them to stand in the main stream of the society. Students celebrate all festivals at our center with the basic understanding of the each festival. Our team gives them the in-depth teachings and right method of celebration to enjoy. Along with value education , students are being trained for the self entrepreneurship also.

The students are given completely free training and they are supported for their livelihood on batch to batch basis. Till date more than 3000 students have been trained and are being tracked for the livelihood. More than 75 % students are better placed with the given training.

The students are supported with sewing machine ,  Advance Sewing Machine , Kitchen Utensils , Beautician Kit , Computer etc. either on the free bas or on loan basis depending upon the financial condition of the students. Students and beneficiaries run their own savings and loan accounts with the help of our team. Their monthly deposit help them to utilize in their critical need period. In this group , more than 400 beneficiaries have become member and help each other.

The center started different job work of cotton bags , cotton purse , T Shirts, Face Masks , Covers , Bed sheets , Nasta making etc. with the group of trained students and earning is being shared among them. Ultimately it  support the needy students. The work is being carried out with the support of the project team. Two of our students are running canteen and many of our students are self entrepreneur in tailoring and beautician activities.

During year Aug. 2021 , it was decided to start the job work on commercial basis to support the beneficiaries with work & remuneration for their available time. Accordingly machineries were installed and set up was created. There is a pool of more than 25 beneficiaries who can work on continuous basis for their ensured livelihood. Also different type of  work in this direction is being planned for the benefit of students at large.
